33109 outside Eastleigh Depot on the 30th March 1997 - Photo: David Blandford 33109 entered service at Hither Green in 1960 and was withdrawn from Eastleigh in February 1997. In March 1997 it was sold by EWS to the Mid Hants Railway, managed and maintained by the 71A Locomotive Group. It was moved to the Mid Hants Railway in 1998. 33109 was restored to mainline status and worked a number of specials during 2000. In 2001 the locomotive management changed hands, with the Mid Hants Railway taking over. It was subsequently sold to Fragonset, for who it worked for several years. 33109 is currently residing on the East Lancs Railway.
